Have You Forgotten The Dream? Youth Renaissance students participated in a student focused workshop analyzing present day at-risk youth’s knowledge of the civil rights movement. Furthermore, how popular music has played a significant role in youth culture for generations.

About The Youth Renaissance Documentary Understanding how toxic pop-culture is to youth and their education, DJ Phatty Banks empowered over 100 students to analyze the Harlem Renaissance and its impact on African American culture to remix their own.

Over 100 students discovered and made connections with past and present culture through writing and producing music using literature and media. Over 40 students traveled to Harlem, New York for spring break to experience and make connections with the original 1920s African American rebirth. Furthermore, students witnessed the birth place of hip-hop culture which influenced and molded Edward Banks into DJ Phatty Banks.
